(4) Abstract This study aimed to understand the characteristics of adoptive parent-child attachment relationships in Taiwan indigenous peoples. To explore how adopted children emotional reactions and adoptive parent-child relationships are affected by adoption disclosure. Qualitative research method and in-depth interviews were done with five adopted children (14-24 years old) and four adoptive parents (45-49 years old) in Paiwan and Amis tribe. This research revealed the summary of results as below: 1. Characteristics of adoptive parent-child attachment relationships in Taiwan indigenous peoples: (1) Adopted children are accepted through an open welcome ceremony in Paiwan. (2)Adoptive parents keep an open attitude towards the relationship between children and their biological families. (3) Lack of parental role and function of the nuclear family can be complemented through multivariate attachment. (4) Adopted children insecure attachment is affected by the adoptive parents negative marriage. (5) Attachment characteristics of each age is different. 2. Adopted children emotional reactions are affected by disclose adoption situations: (1) Adopted children will reduce the emotional impact, if gradually disclosed from childhood. (2) Emphasize the relationship of love can increase positive emotion in the telling process. (3) Negative motives and Negative atmosphere will lead to negative emotions. 3. Adoptive parents for adoption openness will affect the adoptive parent-child relationship: (1) Maintaining open communication to make adoptive parent-child relationship more intimate. (2) Hiding the fact of adoption to make adoptive parent-child relationship more alienated. 4. Motives to search for Biological families: (1) Fantasy in the original family. (2) Coping with adoption confusion. (3) Exploring thoughts and feelings about birth parents and the relinquishment. (4) Wanting to have relations with biological families. 5. Factors affecting adopted children whether to search for biological families: (1) Biological family’s response. (2) Adoptive parents’ views. (3) Loyalty for adoptive parents. (5) Relationships with adoptive families. 6. The feelings of Adopted children in searching and reunion with biological family: Happy, unfamiliar, imagination different from the fact, from understanding to caring, from resistance to developing mutual acceptance of roles, thankful to be adopted, want to maintain contact with biological family. 【keywords】Adoptive family, parent-child relationship, attachment, Taiwan indigenous peoples. !.
