什麼是文物(Cultural Objects)?

文物的涵義



文物是人類在歷史發展過程中遺留下來具有歷史、藝術及科學價值的遺物和遺蹟。



包括:建築作品，油畫、雕刻、版畫、手稿、

照片及其他視覺媒體、表演藝術、古蹟遺址、遺物及各種來自物質文化領域的功能性物件。

文物的描述



非文字的文物、其圖像or數位影像描述不易。

Complex, dynamic, subjective …



文物描述是圖書館、檔案館及博物館共同工作重點。如何合作及分享?



詮釋資料標準是為支援互通性

(interoperability)的資料描述所取得一致的準則。

 資料內容標準 (e.g., rules: AACR2R/RDA, ISAD(G), APPM, DACS, CCO)

 資料值標準(e.g., values/controlled vocabularies: LCNAF, LCSH, MeSH, TGN, ULAN, AAT, CONA)

 資料結構標準(e.g., formats/schemes: DC, MODS, MARC 21, EAD, CDWA, VRA Core)

為何 CCO十分重要?

CCO能使用於所有文化遺產界– 包括視覺資源界、

圖書館、檔案館及博物館。

CCO能使用於不同資料結構，不強行規定資料庫結構或系統。

依照CCO編目，有利於建立資料的一致性，使用者可取得更有效且可理解的查詢結果。

於全球性線上環境，得以分享、合併及發現不同各界所貢獻之共同文化遺產資訊。
