I. Objectives:
The objective of this course is to help students enhance their abilities in listening, speaking, reading and writing through exploring real world issues, discussing academic topics and studying content-based and thematic materials.
Students are expected to preview the topic and vocabulary, identify the topic, main idea and supporting details, predict content of a reading and understand meaning from context. In the process of discussion, students gradually learn to activate prior knowledge, answer questions and interact with peers in English and cultivate critical thinking.
The following ten chapters will be covered during the fall semester:

Requirements:
Students must attend class on time, join discussion in English, do quizzes and exams.
