PACKAGE TOURS AND HOTEL OCCUPANCY RATE

Visitors on package tours totalled 723,000, down by 24.9% year-on-year, with those from Mainland China dropping by 23.6%. In the first three quarters, visitors on package tours totalled 7,392,000, down by 8.0% year-on-year; those arriving on package tours decreased by 5.1%.

Number of guests checking into hotels and guesthouses totalled 853,000; the average occupancy rate (78.4%) decreased by 6.2 percentage points year-on-year. In the first three quarters, guests of hotels and guesthouses decreased by 5.7% year-on-year and the average occupancy rate dropped by 6.3 percentage points.

SEPTEMBER 2015

Outbound residents using services of travel agencies decreased by 8.6% year-on-year to 112,000, with 37.9% travelling on package tours. In the first three quarters, outbound residents using services of travel agencies totalled 1,117,000, down by 1.4% year-on-year.
