課程學習目標
The course is designed mainly to enhance students’ five skills in English language, namely, reading, listening, speaking, writing, and translating. By exposing themselves to English newspaper articles, students can improve reading ability and speed, learn vocabulary in context, know new things and knowledge, and acquire local and international news. Therefore, the aim of this course is to 1) learn the correct concept related to the Journalist English; 2) have the ability to successfully interact with the text you read; 3) to read and analyze different kinds of text/topic; and 4) develop critical thinking and analytical skills.

1. Class Attendance 10% (each absence －2%; incl. excused and unexcused)
* 2 tardies (lateness) will count as 1 absence
* Exceeding 3 absences (excused+unexcused) will result in FAILING OF THE COURSE.
2. Oral Presentation 20%
* Oral presentations must incorporate audio/visual components (PPT, video clips, etc.) 3. Class Participation 10%
