Visitor arrivals totalled 3,070,937, up by 23.1% year-on-year. Overnight visitors and same-day visitors increased by 13.3% and 32.6% respectively. The average length of stay of visitors went down by 0.1 day year-on-year to 1.1 days. In the first two months of 2018, visitor arrivals totalled 5,812,402, up by 8.2% year-on-year.

– Visitors from Mainland China surged by 37.3% year-on-year, with those travelling under the Individual Visit Scheme soaring by 57.9%. Visitors from Hong Kong inched up by 0.1%, while those from the Republic of Korea and Taiwan decreased by 13.4% and 8.4% respectively. Visitors from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom registered increases, whereas those from Australia declined.
