Visitor arrivals totalled 2,833,061, up by 9.4% year-on-year. Overnight visitors and same-day visitors increased by 10.0% and 8.8% respectively. The average length of stay of visitors held steady year-on-year at 1.2 days. In the first eleven months of 2017, visitor arrivals totalled 29,556,816, up by 5.1%

year-on-year.

Cumulative

Visitors from Mainland China increased by 16.1% year-on-year, with those travelling under the Individual Visit Scheme rising by 12.0% to 886,093. Visitors from the Republic of Korea and Taiwan went up by 16.9% and 0.7% respectively, while those from Hong Kong dropped by 6.8%. Visitors from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom registered decreases, whereas those from Australia increased.
