Mar. 14th, 2016 Dear Diary,

I went to Hinoki Village next to our school with Henry today. It’s a bunch of Japanese-style buildings. They were dormitories for Japanese people a long time ago. Now, they have been rebuilt and have become lovely shops.

First, Henry showed me the best cubic pastry shop in Chiayi. We tried different flavors of cubic pastry. It was good. Next, we wanted to visit a famous egg roll shop, but it was closed. What a shame! On the way to see the landmark of Hinoki Village, we also saw a shop called “Pineapple Hill”. It sells pineapple pastries. The large pineapple model in front of the shop reminded me of Hawaii. Henry told me farmers grow a lot of pineapples near Chiayi. They taste super sweet. I hope I can visit the pineapple fields and taste the pineapples someday.

The last thing we saw was a huge part of a Cypress tree trunk. It is the landmark of Hinoki Village. Cypress is called “Hinoki” in Japanese. It is the best wood in Taiwan. People here like to buy Cypress furniture because they last for a long time and they smell good.

Today I was very happy with Henry. We visited many places in Hinoki Village. I wish you were here too.

教材內容:康軒版 Hello Kids! Book 1 單元名稱:What’s Your Name?

單元句型:What’s your name? My name is ___.

學生程度:三年級初級班

教學實施步驟

1. 教師發給每位學生一人一張長條形的圖畫紙,請 學生將圖畫紙摺成6等分。

2. 示範:教師依序示範每一等分要書寫的句子、人名、

圖畫和炸彈的位置,以及代表過關的”Good Job!”。

3. 請學生塗上顏色。

4. 作品分享:教師挑選幾個學生作品用實物投影機 投影在電子白板上,和學生一起玩過關遊戲。

5. 小組練習:學生自己二人一組玩過關遊戲。

現象與對策

現象:為了能將這次作品貼在寫作本裡,所以無法 採將圖畫紙捲起來邊玩邊放,而是摺起來一關一關 的放。但是,光教他們折六等分就花了15分鐘,此 外,學生會自行書寫的英文名字也不多,再加上塗 顏色,整個製作歷程共花了二節課的時間。

對策:請學生用英文詢問彼此的名字,讓學生將同 學的英文名字寫在過關卡上,因為有溝通的需求,

所以每個學生都非常認真地開口說英文,這就是有 意義的說,而不是無意義的重述。

教學省思

這次的寫作是遊戲製作,學生的興趣明顯地被提高 了,雖然製作的時間長達二節課,他們也樂此不疲。

尤其是分享的時候大家興致高昂,甚至下課時還繼 續玩。

這是一個成功的寫作設計,不僅說和寫融進寫作過 程中,重要的是它引起學生強烈的學習動機。
