本研究經數位遠端自我管理計畫介入後，能夠有效的提升腦中風病人之自 我管理知識與行為，提升腦中風病人之生活品質，但是本研究採單組前後測之 類實驗性研究設計，因實施場所之人力、物力、財力及時間的考量，完成收案 的研究對象共74人，且研究場所僅一所區域教學醫院，所以樣本無法代表台灣 地區之腦中風病人，所以推論性有限。為此日後若是可以與其他醫療機構進行 研究，整合研究資源進行實驗性研究設計，包括實驗組與控制組及隨機配對之 研究設計，及增加樣本數，研究結果方能推論至母群體的真實情形。
本研究的介入性措施為期一個月，追蹤時間為三個月，與文獻探討中的研
究顯示慢性病之自我管理計畫大約為期約3-12個月，而追蹤的時間長達12-18 個月，本研究之介入性措施實施的時間太短而追蹤時間較短。所以未來研究人 力及時間許可之下，計畫介入之時間需要延長及追蹤時間也要延長，才更可以 顯示計畫介入之成效及其之推論性。
本研究使用之自我管理量表（PIH scale），原始量表為11題，經臨床研究
者回饋原始量表缺乏有關評估個案之身體活動、情緒與社交生活等具體問題，
故修正自我管理量表（PIH scale）為12題，原始量表11題且包含5項自我管 理之準則，修正後之自我管理量表共12題而包含6項自我管理之準則，而12 題中有兩題是新增加的題目，而原始的11題中有兩題合併為一題（題四與題五 合併為一題），但因本研究獲得弗林德斯大學的醫生馬爾科姆巴特斯主任授權同 意使用為2010年4月，而修正後之自我管理量表（PIH scale）所發表的文章於 2010年9月才刊載，故本研究進行期間無法使用修正後之自我管理量表（PIH scale），為本研究限制之一。
