本研究點出目前工作者休閒時的情形,不同職業工作者參與休閒的機會並 不相等,個人的收入、工作時數也會影響個人參與休閒活動的可能性,不同工 作者由於本身經濟安全、資源不同,休閒時同樣的條件對不同職業工作者具有 不同影響效果。
但是問及參與頻率高低時,職業、收入與工作時數轉為不顯著,換言之,
能不能參加會因為工作特性而有不同的可能性,但是個人經常或較少參與活動 和其他因素較有關聯。因此若希望工作者能經常參與休閒活動,需要排除或降 低工作上的限制,不論是調整、增加符合工作者能負擔的休閒活動,抑或降低 與工作特性有關的進入障礙,可以增加工作者參與的可能性;若要提升參與次 數,則需配合其他方式增加參與頻率。同樣的「工作的條件、限制」從不同視 角觀察,既是一種阻礙、也具有促進從事其他事情的作用,本研究僅能指出影 響休閒參與的因素,尚無法得知答工作者如何在實際狀況中因應工作要求、調 整休閒參與的過程,建議未來可再深入了解工作者面臨阻礙時如何調度、調整 工作、休閒或私人生活。
本研究另一個嘗試為驗證後遺假設與補償假設的適用性,主要以職業代表 工作特性來串聯工作與休閒的關係,解釋工作對休閒時的行為、感受所造成的 影響。在此部分研究受限於次級資料,所選擇的變項涵蓋之工作特性的廣度、
休閒活動種類、個人感受有所侷限,現有資料僅能證實補償假設的論點。同時,
也注意到尚有其他個人特性產生的影響,表面上工作會形塑行為與個人感受,
但是工作特性的影響力並未完全穿透,研究不同活動的參與頻率時,個人特性 具有顯著的影響,工作特性對休閒參與的影響會因為個人特性而產生不同的結 果。工作者的個人特性…等其他因素,可能具有會協調或緩和工作的影響,個 人特性對休閒影響之運作機制還有待未來深入研究。
