this. He tried to be careful. He didn’t want to lose his umbrella again.

One evening, he came home from work. He walked into the living room, showed his wife an umbrella and said, “Look! Here is the umbrella! I didn’t lose it today!” Mr. Wu was happy, but his wife got mad at him. “What?” said his wife. “You didn’t take the umbrella with you this morning!”

Amy: Something wrong. First, they really hope their friends can be polite. Teddy: Well, can we talk during the meal?

Amy: We can talk, but don’t talk with our mouths full. Don’t slurp. Teddy: And what else can we do to be polite?

Amy: Thank them and say something good about the food. Then they may want to invite you again. Teddy: To be polite is so important. And then?

Amy: Never put your arms on the table. It’s not polite to the elderly. Teddy: Oops! I have to change my way…

Amy: And, before the seniors start eating, we cannot start. Also, don’t leave the table before the elderly finish their meals.

Teddy: Phew! I didn’t go with you. It was lucky! In my family, it is free to get away after you finish a meal.

Amy: There’s one more thing: holding the rice bowl during the meal is like a poor asker or a street person! Teddy: Like a beggar? It’s so different from our way. And, what should I do when I blow a nose?

Amy: You should stop it from happening “on” the table. It is bad-mannered. Teddy: Before I have a home stay, I really need to learn good table manners!

A team of people pulled a plastic straw from the nose of a sea turtle . They pulled it out for

a long time and there was blood coming out of the turtle’s nose. At first, "it looked like a worm," said Christine Figgener . She studies on sea turtles’ life. Her team saved the poor living thing out of the sea.

Figgener and her friends were working on sea turtles when they saw

“something” in the nose of a 35-kilogram turtle. After the team pulled it out, they found it—the long brown thing was a plastic drinking straw.

"We just pulled a straw out of the turtle! How could this happen?" said

Figgener. She fought plastic straws for years, but never wanted to find one in a sea turtle's nose. It was hard for the animal to get enough air. It lost health because of the full plastic in its nose. Usually, trash like plastic bags and even toothbrushes finished in a sea turtle's stomach, she said.

How did the straw get to the turtle's nose? She was not sure. Maybe it

slurped up the straw with its meal, then tried to throw it out, but failed to get it out. The team watched the sea turtle's nose. After they saw it was healthy, they let it swim into the sea.
