Application for Participation in Student Educational Activities and Events (March 2022)
(Note: This circular memorandum should be read by heads of all primary and secondary schools)
Summary
The purpose of this circular memorandum is to invite primary and secondary schools to participate in the coming educational activities and events organised, co-organised or announced by Curriculum Development Institute, Education Bureau (EDB). When arranging learning activities for students, schools should ensure that the activities are in line with the learning goals and curriculum objectives, the learning needs of students are catered for, and the safety of students and teachers are taken into account. Please refer to the relevant circulars and guidelines issued by the EDB for the points to note in arranging activities.

Annex 1
Creating • Appreciation • Performing Music Competition (CAP)
Aims / Objectives
The purpose of this circular memorandum is to invite primary and secondary schools to participate in the Creating • Appreciation • Performing Music Competition (CAP). The CAP is organised by the Arts Education (AE) Section of the Curriculum Development Institute (CDI), the Education Bureau.

2. The CAP aims to encourage primary and secondary students to write lyrics for newly composed melodies and perform the songs with respective Music Minus One (MMO). It also aims at enriching students’ English, Chinese and music learning experiences through implementing Language across the Curriculum, as well as nurturing positive values and attitudes in students.
3. Entrants should write lyrics on the themes of positive values and attitudes for one of the three newly composed melodies, provided by the AE Section. The CAP is divided into Primary Division and Secondary Division, each with the following awards: “Commendable Award”, “Outstanding Award” and “The Audience Award”. Each school can submit a maximum of THREE entries. Awarded entries will be displayed on the e-Gallery of the CDI.
4. An online Briefing Session on the competition will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on 18 March 2022 (Friday) by the AE Section. Schools interested in joining the online Briefing Session should complete the Google Reply Form (https://forms.gle/fCajyDb8ncMGGxCK9) and return it on or before 15 March 2022 (Tuesday).
5. Schools interested in joining the CAP, please complete the Entry Submission and Declaration Form, and submit the form with the video of the performance to the AE Section on or before 17 June 2022 (Friday).
