課程學習目標
This course is designed to enhance students’ reading fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary skills and practice some valuable reading strategies. By the end of the course, students will be able to:
1. effectively skim and scan an article to get the main idea 2. guess the meaning of unfamiliar vocabulary from the context 3. express their opinions about various topics answer detailed questions by paraphrasing information from a text and most importantly 4. find reading interesting and enjoyable.

Class rules:
1. Attendance is mandatory.
2. Eating or sleeping is not allowed in class.
3. Keep cell phones off during the class.
4. Come to class with your textbooks or handouts.
5. Four hours of absences without a written excuse approved by the university will result in failure of the course.
6. Being late for classes two times counts as one absence.
7. No make up for any quizzes.
8. Always feel free to ask questions during the class or out of the class.
9. The syllabus will be modified to the class level.
