After removing the effect of price changes, volume of retail sales increased by 4.6% quarter-to-quarter and 11.5% year-on-year. Among the major retail trade, sales volume of Leather Goods, Cosmetics & Sanitary Articles and Watches, Clocks & Jewellery registered notable growth. Moreover, sales volume of Motorcycles, Parts & Accessories rose substantially by 43.0% year-on-year owing to the government's subsidy scheme for the elimination of two-stroke motorcyles, while that of Motor Vehicles saw marked decline.
