A study on Fable Materials of Mandarin

Abstract
Fables are positive stories fraught with disciplinal meanings. Simple but tight plots written within limited capacity can deeply enlighten people, and are rather suitable for textbooks.
This article explores the definition of fables, and depicts the relationship of which and other literary styles. These are the references when it comes to selecting textbooks that fit the definitions of fables used in Grade 1-9 Elementary Subjects of School. Firstly we introduce four editions in the 94th Academic Year, including Ren Lin, Nan Yi, Kang Syuan, and Han Lin, in terms of their respective selecting and editing distributions of Mandarin Textbook Fable Materials used in Grade 1-9 Elementary Subjects of School. After that, we analyze the resources of fables selected by different textbook editions, and have them classified into either classic or modern ones. At last, comparisons and suggestions are offered on the basis of our research results.
