Purpose: The Aim of this research was to study the risk factors of suicide death in Changhua county.
Method: This is a cross section study. The study population was consisted of subjects whose suicidal attempt of living in Changhua county and suicide behavior takes place between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2006(n =910). We
analyze the relevant indicators of suicide attempters such as the demographic characteristic, health status, medical resource and socioeconomic indicators of the case?s residence region,reporting unit and time, such factors and suicidal result go on with descriptive statistics and Logistic regression analysis. Result: 910 cases are included in the study, result of Logistic regression analysis to find , man, over 45 year olds, persons who there was psychiatric history or not quite clear, the reporting unit beyond the hospital, suicide behavior was reported by takes place over 6 days and regional indicators to include high density of population (1320 people /km2), low rate of chronic psychiatric population (<3.4?), the medical families numbers are few (<6 families / 104 people) , low rate of
divorce(<1.8?), high rate of illiteracy (?7%), average population numbers in the family are few (<4 people), such factors for suicide death probability is the getting higher relatively and there was significant difference. Conclusion: Originally discover that the hospital reporting shows the most protecting result to the suicidal death, secondly the area low for density of population. So we need to strengthen the will that the hospital participates in suicide reporting and notifies even more, strengthen the work of suicide prevention to the populous areas of villages and towns at the same time, answering can suppress the soaring of suicidal death rate effectively. The result of this study contributes to
understanding that may influence the high risk factor of the suicide death, can get involved in the reference of the measure as suicide prevention.
