一、課程簡介：
在三十年的時間中，中國成功地由封閉的計劃經濟體制轉換為開放的市場 經濟的社會，成為現今世界經濟體系中僅次於美國經濟產量的國家。面對著這 個社會巨大的改變，有關中國改革開放的研究（特別是關於改革開放的研究）
已成為當前社會科學研究上的重要議題。本課程試圖由社會學研究文獻中探討 社會學家對於中國社會主義轉型議題的研究，以及此一轉型對於中國社會、經 濟與政治體制的影響。
本課程目的有三：一是熟悉與瞭解這個與臺灣具有深厚關係社會的進展，
以及改革過程中的社會內在問題與矛盾，二是瞭解近年來社會學在此領域中的 進展，第三則是期望同學由研讀論文中逐漸掌握閱讀與撰寫研究論文的技巧，
作為以後進行此類研究的有力助手。
二、上課方式與課程要求
本課程為三小時的專題研究性質，課程內容的講授與討論同樣重要。一般 的上課方式如下：在第一個鐘頭裡，將對該週所要研讀的課題與教材提供基礎 性的介紹，然後由同學對該週的教材進行報告與討論。上課同學須在上課前閱 讀本週的教材，而主持報告與討論同學更須將其報告與討論內容製作成簡報或 文字稿，並在上課前分派給其他上課同學。
上課同學須在十月底以前與老師討論準備撰寫的期末報告，並在第 9 週上 課前提出一份不超過 5 頁的期末報告計畫大綱。期末報告將在上課的最後一週 完成。

1. 作業-文獻回顧與評論：30%
2. 課堂口頭報告：20%
3. 期末報告：40%
4. 出席與討論：10%
