摘要: 在當今複雜多變的世界中,教育應著重在個人創造力、思考力、問題解決能力的培 養。兒童美術教育即有培養這些能力,豐富兒童生命,促進人類互相了解和促進個人 未來發展的功能。存在主義哲學家雅斯培(K. Jaspers, 1883-1969)認為教育不只是 片斷知識的傳授,而是整體精神的陶冶。人類過去的精神文化遺產應儘早放入學生的 課程中,如此才會對他的一生造成深遠的影響。而藝術是人類精神文化遺產中極為重 要的一部分,透過藝術美的形式之傳達,可以增加群育的效果並培養個人對於整體 精神的體認,以作為接受道德理想的準備。可見兒童美術教育亦有陶冶人格和培養群 性的功能。然而,在我國當前的教育體系中,藝術教育卻是最弱的一環。在家長的深 切期許和社會的迷思下,兒童美術教育經常被當作天才的培養教育,或才藝教育的 一種,而扭曲了兒童美術教育的本質。本文擬從兒童美術理論和兒童美術教育理論的 探討,澄清兒童美術教育的本質精神和功能,並藉一個實例說明兒童美術教育的實 踐過程和成果。 This study aims to explore the theories of children’s art and the visual art education for children as well as to illustrate the process of a creative children’s art instruction program practiced in Pei- Hsing Child Care Center located in Chai-Yi City in southern Taiwan. Pei- Hsing Child Care Center has been working on child art instruction for over 20 years and has lots of experience as well as contributions to building the children’s confidence, skills and knowledge in art. As an advocate to liberal education, the head of this child care center is conscious of the important role that art plays in early childhood education. He provides an environment which inspires children’s
creativity and his high quality program following many contemporary art theories puts emphasis on encouraging talking art among children as well as providing an abundance of expressive art experiences.
