VISITOR ARRIVALS
․ Visitor arrivals totalled 2,181,476 in June 2011, up by 14.5% year-on-year, with same-day visitors (1,142,014) accounting for 52.4% of total visitor arrivals. In the first half year of 2011, visitor arrivals increased by 8.3% year- on-year to 13,246,656; same-day visitors made up 54.3% of the total, at 7,190,962.
․ Visitors from Mainland China increased by 21.7% year-on- year to 1,198,754 in June 2011, and the majority came from Guangdong Province, Fujian Province and Zhejiang Province. Mainland visitors travelling to Macao under the Individual Visit Scheme totalled 465,218, up by 23.2%.
․ In the first half year of 2011, visitor arrivals by sea (5,225,256) and by land (7,214,350) increased by 3.8% and 13.4% respectively year-on-year; visitor arrivals by air (807,050) decreased by 2.9%.
