April 2015
Visitors from Mainland China decreased by 6.4% year-on-year, with those travelling under the Individual Visit Scheme rising slightly by 0.5%. Visitors from Hong Kong and Taiwan increased by 3.0% and 11.0%; long-haul visitors from the United States registered year-on-year increase, while those from Australia saw decline.
Visitor arrivals decreased by 3.4% year-on-year; same-day visitors dropped by 2.7%. The average length of stay of visitors decreased by 0.1 day year-on-year to 0.9 day; overnight and same-day visitors had an average stay of 1.8 days and 0.2 day respectively. Total visitor arrivals in the first four months of 2015 dropped by 3.6% year-on- year.
Visitor arrivals by land and by sea dropped by 4.9% and 2.5% respectively year-on-year, while those arriving by air rose by 4.6%.
