VISITOR ARRIVALS
Visitor arrivals totalled 2,876,046, up by 17.6% year-on-year. Overnight visitors and same-day visitors rose by 18.9% and 16.4% respectively. The average length of stay of visitors was 1.1 days, down by 0.1 day; the average stay of overnight visitors and same-day visitors was 2.1 days and 0.2 day respectively.
Visitors from Mainland China grew by 20.4% year-on-year, with those travelling under the Individual Visit Scheme (1,128,516) surging by 43.8%. Visitors from the Republic of Korea and Hong Kong also registered growth. Meanwhile, long-haul visitors from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom increased year-on-year while those from Australia decreased.
Visitor arrivals by land, by sea and by air increased by 19.8%, 14.1% and 13.8% respectively year-on-year.
