第三節 後續研究建議
一、擴展史學領域之引用文獻分析範圍
本研究之範圍僅為歷史學領域中之一小部分，且樣本僅限於博士學位 論文，不同史學論著形式有不同的撰寫與引用格式規範，學位論文的特色 之一在於對相關主題研究進行全面性的回顧，因此論文篇幅及其引用文獻 數量較期刊來得多，相較之下，選擇學位論文作為引用文獻分析樣本較容 易觀察研究者於研究過程中可能參考的文獻。
本研究結果顯示，史學研究者著述時利用的文獻類型多元，本研究受 限於時間，僅以近十年的博士學位論文為樣本，未來可以民國史為範疇，
以其他年代產出之博士學位論文、同年代產出之碩士學位論文，或同年代 產出之期刊論文為研究樣本，進行引用文獻分析，並將結果與本研究相對 照，觀察其異同，如此將使民國史研究者之文獻使用行為更為具體。
除此之外，史學研究範圍貫乎中外古今，民國之外，清代據今亦不 遠，且仍有大量一手史料可資研究；此外隨著本土化思潮之推展，臺灣史 研究儼然為當今臺灣史學研究之顯學，未來亦可進一步以清史、臺灣史研 究為範圍，探討不同主題史學研究論著之引用文獻情形，以資圖書館、檔 案館等文獻服務單位做為參考。

二、以質性研究方法研究史學研究者之引用文獻行為
以引用文獻分析法研究史學研究者的文獻引用行為固然為「相對」
客觀的途徑，然量化統計亦有侷限，本研究最難處理的問題為引用均等，
例如有些研究者條列的引用文獻一筆為五年期的婦女雜誌，然而有些研究 者的一筆卻僅為婦女雜誌中的一篇文章；又如使用檔案原件，有些研究者 的一筆為檔案館中典藏的某一全宗，但有些研究者卻以「件」為單位逐一 羅列。因此，量化的引用文獻分析所得結果並非絕對，僅能視之為相對程 度之參考。
此外，量化研究無法得知研究者之引用動機，僅能看出研究者使用哪 些文獻，而非研究者「為什麼」使用特定文獻；且如研究者不特別註明，
無從得知研究者使用的版本以及透過何種管道獲取特定文獻。以上問題有 待以質性研究方法，透過深度訪談等方式深入瞭解。
