Nightingale(2008)指出,觀察為基礎的研究高度仰賴於自我反思的活動

(p.106)並且仰賴於批判性的反思(critical reflection)。田野觀察過程中,由 於人脈關係,我得以親近和貼身觀察的臺灣交換學生,多為經濟相對優勢、學 歷較高且積極翻牆的同學。我搜集到的資料較多自於這些同學,同時,這些交 換學生在表達和反省的能力上,較其他臺灣交換學生好,能給我較多更深刻,

經過省思的回答,如此使我的田野筆記中,他們的經驗比重相對多於其他臺灣 交換學生。另外,我的觀察對象多為積極和渴望翻牆的交換學生,目前無完全 不願翻牆,享受於中國境內網路環境的學生。Nightingale 討論的種族、合法性 的限制,交換期間我所面對性別問題,由於宿舍安排的關係,我無法進入女生 宿舍觀察她們在宿舍使用網路和翻牆的經驗,只能仰賴訪談過程中進行資料蒐 集,但仍易缺乏更細微的觀察資料。

雖然實際的田野觀察需要更多時間,不過基於臺灣交換學生的居留特性,

是一個有期限性的居留生活,因此不可能也無法更長時間地觀察交換學生。另 外,由於時間和金錢問題,我沒法再度前來中國觀察其他臺灣交換學生,更深 度地和廣泛地理解臺灣交換學生在中國的網路實踐。以及,我所觀察的臺灣交 換學生多數居住於中國一線城市市中心,交換於中國知名大學,因此,處於任 何通訊基礎和物資豐腴的區域,中國城市間的發展差異,是否影響其日常生活 的網路實踐,是未來得以關注的部份。

關於臺灣交換學生的日常生活網路實踐是初步的研究,而研究和觀察的對 象為在網路環境相對殊異,而時空上相對較近的赴中臺灣交換學生。從觀察對 象上,除了積極擁抱翻牆的臺灣交換學生,完全不想翻牆,享受中國境內網路 環境的臺灣交換學生,是研究的新方向。延伸研究群體,前往其他國家的臺灣 交換學生,雖然沒有面對網路的管控,但可能受到時空差異或生活條件限制,

可能擁有不同的網路實踐之經驗,這也是值得觀察和探討的研究對象。
