第三節 研究限制與建議

本研究是初探性的研究,故將研究範圍縮小聚焦於檢證電視新聞框架的存實。由於 內缺國內前人具體實際的文獻參考,故轉引國外的電視新聞框架研究,在研究執行過程 中,遇到許多研究上的限制和心得,以下玆提出作為討論。

一、新聞框架仍多呈現在傳統的新聞文本層次上:本研究觀察的遊行事件中,雖然 採用五個新聞文本的層次進行分析,但在積分的表現上,新聞框架仍呈現在「新聞影像、

新聞標題和記者口白」等三個層次上,其他如「新聞動畫」和「音效配樂」等,則完全 沒有得分。原因可能是這樣的社會運動事件仍是既定的公開活動,並且在活動開始前,

各媒體早已各自展不同政治立意的一連串報導,因此,記者報導過程中,無需使用新聞 動畫重建現場,由於現場背景聲音極為明顯,也無需再經後製加上音效和音樂,這可能

「新聞動畫和音效」使用不明顯的原因。

二、各台新聞樣本數量差異過大:如先前所提,本研究所選擇「社會運動事件」作 為觀察對象,但因國內政媒環境風氣的結構和政黨偏差的影響,在研究樣本上,產生諸 多不均的情形。若從政治用意的角度來看,新聞則數越少是否真能達到抑制社運事件的 目的,在電視媒體和網路蓬勃發展的現今台灣社會中,也許是新聞媒體產製人員在挑選 新聞題材報導時,更應考量的因素。

三、新聞題材的選錄無法多樣性:由於是初探性研究,因此本研究在未能證實國內 電視新聞必有新聞框架呈現的前提下,挑選過去文獻常被用來討論的社運事件作為主 題。事實上,在國外電視新聞的研究成果,亦有採用犯罪新聞、財經新聞、農業新聞…

等主題作為新聞框架檢測的主題;因此,本研究建議未來研究者,可朝不同主題的新聞 事件作更大樣本數的新聞框架研究,以互相比較不同題材的新聞之間,框架效果的呈現

異同。

四、未來可進行不同媒體間的新聞框架比較:在本研究引用的文獻裡,Holli &

Patti(2000)便是同時採用報紙和電視新聞,互做框架間差異的比較。本研究基於研究人 力和時間限制,僅關注於電視新聞的框架呈現,若未來能增加不同媒介之間的新聞框架 比較,理應能更進一步知悉「新聞框架理論」的全貌。

五、其他新聞框架的可能性:本研究的主題聚焦五個新聞框架,因此在新聞報導的 呈現上,各台並未出來過大的差異,但未來的後續研究若能採取不同的新聞主題,也許 能進一步發現先前文獻中皆未能提出的新框架,例如以新聞動畫為主的框架、或是結合 其他媒體(如網路)而共同呈現的新聞框架。
