本研究為比較新移民女性和本籍女性配偶的健康狀況是否有所差 異，並考慮新移民女性和本籍婦女及其配偶之個人、經濟、家庭、健康 習慣及先天上的疾病或障礙等因素下，進一步探討影響新移民女性和本 籍女性其健康狀況的因子有哪些。
本研究調查居住在相同鄉村型的社區環境中之不同國籍間的婦女健 康狀態是有差異的，且差異來自於本籍和中國籍、本籍和東南亞籍；新 移民女性健康皆明顯優於本籍婦女。但同國籍的差異在考慮其他因素對 健康狀態的影響後，此差異便不再顯著了，考慮的因素包括與先生年齡 差距、婦女個人收入、婦女一般病史、發展遲緩子女有無、知覺壓力等 因素。且結果顯示具發展遲緩子女和知覺壓力是預測婦女健康的主要因 子，尤其是婦女知覺壓力，而且此因素是對不同國籍婦女之健康而言是 共同強烈的預測因子。因此，國籍間所呈現的初步差異不在於國籍本身，
而是與隱含在國籍背後的一些因素之差異有關如本籍女性比新移民女性 有較高的知覺壓力、較高比率的有工作者、較高的疾病率和較多的流產 次數，和與先生年齡差異較小而可能因此較不能感受到先生的體貼或支 持等因素。
本研究為橫斷面研究，有關於移民者的健康行為行為如何影響移民 者健康，是否為健康移民效應所導致的結果而造成和非移民者健康上的
差異無法探討，但建議未來可以朝此方向；期望研究結果能對國內有關 跨國婚姻、移民研究與移民者健康的影響之問題有所幫助，且提供政府 在制定相關移民政策、跨國婚姻政策、外籍新娘的家庭及其兒童的社會 福利服務制度或相關衛生保健政策方案之參考。同時呼籲相關單位在重 視新移民女性及其子女的發展問題之餘，也不要忽略居住在同樣弱勢的 鄉村型社區環境中的本籍婦女所面臨的工作、生活和家庭的困境，尤其 是本籍婦女較晚婚、其生產風險較高，多有工作要分擔家庭經濟，在工 作和家務育兒兩頭燒的情況，其身心健康和家庭扶助等相關問題的協助。
