Project Approach in a Second-Grade Class in Taiwan

3Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore the Project Approach in a second-grade class in a private elementary school in Taiwan. The Project Approach was a formal course in this school while most public schools don’t have the course in their timeta-bles in Taiwan. Narrative inquiry was adopted in this study. The methods of data collection included interview, examination of relevant documents and questionnaire. Data was analyzed inductively. The mind findings were followings:
1. The Project Approach can be a formal course in second-grade class. It pro-vided nice learning experience to students due to their teacher guide the project skillfully.
2. “Cook Master Project” was developed depended on students’ curiosities. It created opportunities of active exploring and experiential learning to stu-dents, integrated different learning domains and provided multiple learning opportunities. Both teacher and students evaluated it positively.
3. The teacher needed sufficient professional knowledge about Project Ap-proach because she played a key role during the project work.
