2010 World University Rankings – HKUST Engineering Maintains Its Lead

The School of Engineering of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) again ranks No. 1 among all the Engineering schools in Hong Kong and retains its worldwide ranking at No. 26, according to the latest 2010 QS World University Rankings in Technology. The School is consistently ranked within the top 30 universities in the world.

The top 3 universities remain to be Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley, respectively. University of California, Los Angeles is placed at 15, Princeton University at 21, Harvard University at 22, HKUST at 26, Purdue University at 28 and University of British Columbia at 30.

“HKUST is again the only university from Hong Kong amongst the leading and top 50 global universities in the technology field. As one of the best engineering schools in the world, we have been playing our roles in driving forward global changes through the significant discoveries of our top-notch faculty and research students. We seek to be a global research powerhouse that drives the future and make significant impact on a global scale,” said HKUST’s Dean of Engineering, Prof Khaled Ben Letaief.

The QS World University Rankings is a league table of the world’s top universities embracing aspects of research quality, teaching quality, graduate employability and internationalization. In addition to the overall ranking, it also publishes field rankings in different subjects including technology.
