PACKAGE TOURS AND HOTEL OCCUPANCY RATE

Visitors on package tours totalled 820,000, up by 16.3% month-to-month and yet down by 22.3% year-on-year, with those from Mainland China dropping by 19.1%. In the first seven months, visitors on package tours totalled 5,762,000, down by 2.9% year-on-year.

A total of 978,000 guests checked into hotels and guesthouses, up by 4.6% year-on-year. Guests from Hong Kong surged by 44.6%, while those from Mainland China decreased by 1.1%. In the first seven months, hotel guests decreased by 6.2% year-on-year; the average occupancy rate (78.5%) dropped by 7.5 percentage points.

JULY 2015

Outbound residents using services of travel agencies decreased by 6.8% year-on-year to 137,000, with 45.6% travelling on package tours. In the first seven months, outbound residents using services of travel agencies totalled 872,000, up by 1.9% year-on-year.
