中文摘要

本年度研究計畫延續第一年期對於緊急處理步驟使用說明設計與應用的整體性分析調查，從中分析視覺語言及資訊架構，探詢受測者對於緊急救助圖示應用變化的辨識程度及意見回饋，接著深入探究使用功能與實際環境的關係，本研究計畫採用使用功能測驗方法，以視覺資訊傳達的設計方法發展步驟解說圖示，研擬以視覺資訊設計概念下發展緊急救護示意圖像應用於事先預防教育用途和緊急措施處理之確認與提醒兩種用途的概念設計模式，並進行應用模式的個案研究與設計實驗。接下來，應用通用設計的概念檢驗來進行資料蒐集與圖示設計調整，以確定圖式設計與視覺語言應用的時效性與可理解性。最後，

整理歸納視覺樣式通用標準化的想法與考量，以提供視覺設計、安全規劃與教育推廣等專業人士建議與參考。在學理上，本研究將建立起緊急救護圖示的系統性研究，以期協助視覺設計師更進一步了解視覺語言應用與視覺資訊設計策略的使用如何影響使用者的使用、

辨識與理解。在實際應用上，因視覺樣式通用標準化的想法與考量，本研究之成果可對發展視覺資訊設計概念及如何設計緊急救護示意圖像提出建議。

Abstract

Based on results over the previous year to understand the users’ degree of awareness on explanation graphics as well as the effectiveness and efficiency of the design, the research team engaged in a visual information design research on explanation graphics for emergency. In view of various forms of visual representation and explanation graphics, this investigation aims to understand the users’ degree of awareness on explanation graphics for emergency as well as the effectiveness and efficiency of the design. To answer the research questions, the data was collected and analyzed through the processes of survey, design experiments, interviews, and protocol analysis. This investigation established a systematic and a strategic view on explanation graphics for emergency from a visual information design perspective. With this effort, we

understood how the uses of visual language and visual information structure in explanation graphics affect users’ understanding of the provided information. On the other hand, the results of the study made comments and suggestions for the current explanation graphics design of

emergency and this experiment increased significant improvements on the development of visual information design. Effective and efficient guidelines not only can help someone to make the right decision and to give the correct treatment, but also can provide a novice effective

information in order to perform several treatments to save someone’s life during the golden time.

一、前言

雖然警告標誌與警報的設置在我們的學習與工作環境、公共活動場域、甚至一般家庭用品與工廠機械等，隨時可見，用以提醒的方式儘量避免災害的發生。然而，我們生活週遭隱藏著的各式各樣危險仍然難以完全避免，防不勝防，雖然在預防上加強宣導以減少意外傷亡是重要的，但意外總在許多難以避免的情況下發生，意外發生後隨即的緊急救護，便成為生命救助極其重要的一環。緊急救護圖示的設計與使用可以分為事先預防教育用途和緊急措施處理之確認與提醒兩種用途。

本計畫以第一年期的研究為基礎，進行對於緊急處理步驟使用說明設計與應用的整體性分析調查。為了加以深入了解使用者對緊急救助圖示意識行為及其使用與辨認經驗，根據先前所分析的結果了解使用者在辨識與理解上所遭遇到之問題，更進一步針對現行緊急救助圖示與新設計進行使用功能測驗，除了持續蒐集與分析國內外敘述緊急救助步驟、緊急救助過程、緊急救助圖示表現之相關策略與設計，以及緊急處理步驟使用說明設計與應用

（如產品視覺應用、二維及三維空間環境之配合與應用）的相關資料，將進行實驗設計、

測試題目以及受測紀錄檢核單等規劃與測試，以檢驗所進行之資料蒐集整合與圖示設計調整，以確定圖式設計與視覺語言應用的有效性。本計畫透過了解國內外敘述緊急救助步驟、

緊急救助過程、以及緊急救助圖示表現之相關策略與設計，從中分析視覺語言及資訊架構，

並透過理解程度問卷的規劃，以測驗受測者對緊急救助圖示的印象與辨識程度，探詢受測者對於緊急救助圖示應用變化(包括圖像與背景變化、造形與色彩變化、以及與實體環境的置放運用等)的辨識程度及意見回饋。

正確而有效的資訊引導一方面可幫助緊急救護處理者作正確的判斷與周全的處理；另一方面，緊急救護時間性的掌握極其重要，在短短幾秒鐘內的當機立斷以及正確措施即可拯救危急的生命或減少傷殘的程度：無論是否經過專業訓練，每個人皆可透過有效的視覺資訊尋得緊急救護的工具，在有限的時間內作簡易的處理並馬上聯繫專業的支援。因此，檢視緊急救護圖示的應用，加強緊急救護圖示的閱讀教育與宣導，並讓每個人都可以馬上得到正確而有效率的資訊以引導其作正確的判斷與處理，是十分迫切且重要的，譬如：意外發生時，第一時間緊急救助箱的尋找；實驗室中不小心讓化學藥劑噴入眼睛時，在就醫前應做的處理步驟告知；CPR 的施行步驟，以及飛行前的逃生常識宣導等。此項重要研究需要得以延續以深化設計研究之重點，完成對緊急救護圖示應用的檢視，對現行緊急救護圖示的設計應用提出建議與改進方案，加強緊急救護圖示的教育宣導，讓每個人得到正確而有效率的資訊，並用以引導其作正確判斷與處理的必要研究。

二、研究目的

本研究延續前一年之研究成果，主要以視覺資訊傳達的觀點切入，進行國內緊急救護圖示之使用現況與現階段全球通用的緊急處理示意圖像認識程度的調查，接下來將要針對各種不同形式的緊急處理步驟使用說明設計與應用（如產品視覺應用、二維及三維空間環境之配合與應用）進行整體性的分析調查。在探討使用現況與認識程度之後，本計畫將著重於示意圖像時效性、可理解性及其應用模式的個案研究與設計實驗，範疇包括調查國內現階段全球通用的緊急狀況示意圖像的認識程度與緊急救護圖示之使用現況，並針對各種不同形式的緊急處理步驟使用說明設計與應用進行整體性的分析調查，為了延續這項重要成果，並深入探究使用功能與實際環境的關係，本研究計畫的研究目的有四：針對燒燙傷等意外傷害的緊急處理之視覺資訊，評估緊急處理步驟使用說明設計的時效性與可理解性，此方面的研究採用使用功能測驗方法，以視覺資訊傳達的設計方法發展步驟解說圖示。

其次，研擬以視覺資訊設計概念下發展緊急救護示意圖像應用於事先預防教育用途和緊急措施處理之確認與提醒兩種用途的概念設計模式，進行應用模式的個案研究與設計實驗。

接下來，應用通用設計的概念以 PPP (Product Performance Program) 檢驗來進行資料蒐集與圖示設計調整，以確定圖式設計與視覺語言應用的有效性。最後，整理歸納視覺樣式通用標準化的想法與考量，以提供視覺設計、安全規劃與教育推廣等專業人士建議與參考。

為了加強緊急救護圖示的教育宣導，讓每個人得到正確而有效率的資訊，並用以引導其作正確判斷與處理，除了使用者平時常識與經驗的累積之外，緊急救助視覺資訊的設計需注意到目標群眾並非醫護專業人員，此類設計是提供一般大眾缺乏救助專業訓練與經驗的人讀取。隨著視覺資訊設計的各式呈現與使用者有著行動上與理解上的影響或互動，視覺資訊是否同時具備時效性與可理解性是我們必須要關心的要項。

三、研究方法

本計畫進入設計實驗、訪談以及口語分析的重要階段，以正在進行的視覺語言及資訊架構整體分析為基礎，重視受測者對於緊急救助圖示應用變化的辨識程度及意見回饋，檢驗所進行之資料蒐集整合與圖示設計調整，並確定圖式設計與視覺語言應用的有效性，是完成對緊急救護圖示應用的檢視，對現行緊急救護圖示的設計應用提出建議與改進方案的必要研究。設計實驗旨在進行視覺資訊設計與使用的測試，落實以使用者為中心與通用設計概念的實用性理念；而訪談的目的除了是要獲得專業人士的建議和觀點外，亦希望獲得受測者進行實驗操作時的觀感反應，而口語分析方法的運用可對受測者的感知辨識與對視覺資訊的理解作更深入的了解。

本年度延續研究資料的歸納整理、視覺語言及資訊架構分析，與問卷調查，緊接著以個案研究、測試題目以及受測紀錄檢核單等規劃，根據先前所分析的結果了解使用者在辨識與理解上所遭遇到之問題，邀請受測者進行前導訪談與實驗測試，隨之確定之實驗測試內容進行使用功能測驗，從中找出問題，尋求問題解決之方法，以探討民眾對緊急救助圖示的視覺認識，並應用通用設計的概念以檢驗與進行圖示之設計實驗。循序完成之項目分為:

（1）歸納與整理緊急處理示意圖像的使用與其他產品或環境之配合應用，並針對緊急救護的跨文化與跨地域性特性加以定義與辨識圖樣。（2）了解國內外敘述緊急救助步驟、緊急救助過程、以及緊急救助圖示表現之相關策略與設計，從中進行視覺語言及資訊架構之分析，並針對各種不同形式的就醫前緊急處理步驟使用說明設計與應用進行整體性的分析調查。（3）規劃問卷以探討民眾對緊急救助圖示的視覺認識。先測驗受測者對緊急救助圖示的印象與辨識程度，接著再探知受測者對於緊急救助圖示應用變化的辨識程度及意見回饋。（4）進行「緊急救助圖示意識行為」與「使用與辨認經驗」問卷調查。（5）分析既有圖示使用之現況與民眾辨認經驗之關聯性以及民眾對緊急救助圖示之意識與應對行為。

四、研究發現、討論與建議

除了在第一年期的研究計畫所進行的緊急救護圖示跨文化與跨地域性的比較與整理，

現行計畫針對緊急救護的跨文化與跨地域性特性加以定義與辨識圖樣，蒐集國內外敘述緊急救助步驟、緊急救助過程，以及緊急救助圖示表現之相關策略與設計，進行問卷調查，

將對緊急狀況示意圖像的使用與其他產品或環境之配合作系統性的歸納與整理，並對民眾對緊急救助圖示的視覺認識有了初步的了解，為探知受測者對於緊急救助圖示應用變化與實境使用的辨識程度及意見回饋，進行個案與設計實驗，研擬事先預防教育用途和緊急措施處理的概念設計模式以及通用標準化等目的。

在個案研究中分別針對避難緩降機操作說明圖示設計、用藥圖像設計的識認性、與中風評估說明圖之圖示設計進行實例研究探討，用以探討使用者對說明圖示的辨識與認知，

對個案現況深度探救與實驗，並探討圖解圖示以及視覺資訊傳達設計的原則與建議。本研究團隊除了持續對訊息內容以及文化地區性的深度與廣度擴大，使之更加扎實且豐富外，

並進行問卷規劃與問卷調查，以探討民眾對緊急救助圖示的視覺認識，藉著「緊急救助圖示意識行為」及「使用與辨認經驗」問卷調查的進行，以及既有圖示使用之現況與民眾辨認經驗之關聯性以及民眾對緊急救助圖示之意識與應對行為的分析，深入探究受測者對於緊急救助圖示應用變化的辨識程度及意見回饋。根據現行研究所討論之結果，研究團隊進行（a）緊急救助符號之應用現況及個案識認性評估，（b）緊急救助視覺應用於不同文化地域使用狀況之探究，以及（c）使用者對現有緊急救助符號之認知研究等方面的分析與整理。

透過對國內緊急救護圖示之使用現況與國人對現階段全球通用的緊急處理示意圖像的認識程度，以及各種不同形式的緊急處理步驟使用說明設計與應用進行整體性的分析調查，進行使用者對緊急救助圖示的辨識與圖像設計的策略方法的探究。

根據辨認經驗之關聯性以及民眾對緊急救助圖示之意識與應對行為，探討國內居民對緊急救助圖示的視覺辨識與該示意圖像在通用設計觀點下的現況，並對緊急救助與處理之相關視覺資訊教育提出建議。另一方面，思考示意圖像在實際運用上之於辨認性與時效性的設計觀點，視覺資訊設計除了在一般主題表現上功能導向與美感表現的平衡，本研究更是凸顯其迫切性與重要性，全球通用視覺語言的使用及相關研究可與世界接軌，更是往後針對更深入的緊急救助圖示之視覺語言傳達與溝通設計研究的里程碑。更甚者，本研究對樣式通用標準化的建議不僅可為使用者帶來多項便利，為商業提供優勢競爭力，更為社會民生相關如保健衛生、環境導引與安全救助等加強有效服務。

五、計畫成果自我評估

本年度的研究計畫中我們順利達成預期進度。除了透過了解國內外敘述緊急救助步驟、緊急救助過程、以及緊急救助圖示表現之相關策略與設計，從中進行視覺語言及資訊架構之分析，接著進入探討民眾對緊急救助圖示的視覺認識的階段研究，針對緊急救助圖示的視覺辨識，透過理解程度問卷的規劃，以深入了解使用者對緊急救助圖示意識行為及其使用與辨認經驗；本研究計畫主持人在第一年期期間參加了 IIID (International Institute for Information Design)與 Mälardalen University 在瑞典所舉辦的 The International Conference of Application of Information Design 2008 國際研討會並發表論文(見參考文獻 1)，與來自世界各國在視覺資訊設計領域具翹楚地位的研究者和設計師等專家有了進一步的交流，並與之分享研究團隊對於安全指引信息資訊的結果與心得。主持人更於 98 年暑期受邀由

OECD(Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development)與 IIID (International Institute for Information Design) 在巴黎所舉辦的 DD4D(Data Design For Decision Making)

國際研討會，發表演說、分享相關研究，並參與指導學生的活動(T42, Tea For Two)，參與大會人員大多為歐盟各國及美洲地區在經濟文化占有一席之地的專家學者以及在視覺資訊設計領域具領導地位的研究者和設計師；主持人並在同一暑假期間前往韓國濟州參加亞洲基礎造形聯合學會韓國大會並發表論文(見參考文獻 2)，與亞洲地區投入於基礎設計教育的專家學者進行討論與交流。

主持人並於 98 年二月前往芝加哥參加 CAA(College Art Association)第 98 屆年度大會(2010 CAA Conference)，發表海報論文(出席國際學術會議心得報告及發表之論文請見參考文獻 3 及附錄 A)，瞭解現今藝術與設計領域中活躍的議題討論，並參與了多項論述與實務的分享。同一月份，主持人受邀於美國威斯康辛大學密爾瓦基分校進行交流與演講(請見附錄 B)，此公開演講開放予該校師生與一般大眾，當晚約二百多人前來參與，會後提問交流反應熱烈，是個十分難得的經驗。除了與國際相關領域專家學者保持高度聯繫與討論，

主持人近年在美國、韓國、新加坡、馬來西亞等地方參訪交流，99 年九月份至中國上海觀摩世界博覽會活動，並訪問 IDEO 及 PEGA 兩家重量級跨國設計公司，不僅保持國際間的交流與建立友好關係，更對不同地域文化間視覺資訊設計的規劃與使用進行資料蒐集。

本研究團隊積極進行訊息設計與視覺應用使用狀況之探究，以及使用者對視覺語言與符號之認知研究等方面的分析與整理，成果陸續發表於相關學術期刊及國內外研討會中。

目前已有 1 篇論文被國際期刊所刊登，1 篇論文被國際期刊所接受，1 篇論文被國科會所列之國內特優期刊所接受，已發表之國際研討會論文 8 篇，已發表之國內研討會論文 6 篇。

本研究在所有成員熱情努力投入研究工作下奠定了對緊急救助圖示與視覺資訊傳達設計的重要基礎，並開始在學術舞台建立國際性的交流與機制。

The College Art Association (CAA) hosted its 98^th Annual Conference on February 10-13, 2010 in Chicago, USA. Drawing more than 4,000 art professionals from all over the world, especially throughout the states, this conference gathered experts such as visual artists, visual educators, art historians, art-museum curators, collectors, and art critics. It provided a great opportunity for all participants, including professionals, educators, students, and any other members who are interested in the topics to exchange experiences and opinions. Invited speakers covered various topics within the field, a book and trade fair, and a host of special events throughout the Chicago area. With those participations and interactions, we shared ideas, aroused inspirations, and sparked new thoughts.

The discussion and display of my work created tremendous interactions between not only the presenters and the audience, but also between those presenters in the same session. We expressed our concepts, received feedbacks from the audiences, and also learnt from other professionals.

Presenters shared varieties of research, case studies, and design projects. I received lots of feedbacks and interesting attentions during and after my presentation. Other sessions, speeches, various open galleries, and social activities created great opportunities for participants to interact.

It is a fabulous experience in which everyone shared ideas and exchange works in a formal conference time, as well as in a casual setting in the galleries and other gatherings. Those formal and informal interactions with other speakers, students, and participants broadened my view more globally in the field of design and arts. It was a excellent experience participating in this annual conference where gathered many intelligent people from all over the world. The commerce with academicians and professionals enriched my field of vision inside and outside of my discipline.

Not only had I learned a lot from this high ranked conference held by CAA, but I gained an unforgettable experience to have personal contact with other professionals, to explore

magnificent architectures, and to experience Chicago culture. With a sound result in attending the 2010 College Art Association 98^th Annual Conference, I would very much like to have more opportunities to present my work globally by which not only share my ideas with other scholars

from all over the world but also learn a great amount of experiences from them. For this coming academic year, I plan to share my research results at IMPACT 7: Intersections & Counterpoints.

This international multi-disciplinary printmaking conference will be held at Melbourne in Australia. I am sure those experiences will enrich my professional development much more.

Moreover, I am glad to spread our Taiwan experiences overseas and to take precious perceptions back to share with my colleagues, students, friends, and communities.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the kind support from National Science Council in assisting me with attending this conference. This is an excellent opportunity for me to contribute the mission of visual design research by sharing the latest ideas, technical information, and research findings. The Conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago from February 10 to 13. Lauren Stark, Manager of Programs, and I look forward to working with you over the coming months. Please remember that all participants are required to be CAA members in good standing in order to serve as poster board presenters. Let me know immediately if you will be unable to attend the conference and serve in this capacity.

You will receive instructions for the preparation of your poster session around December 1. Meanwhile, please review the basic guidelines, as they were described in the Call for Poster Sessions.

Presenters will check in at the Speaker Ready Room in the Hyatt. Each presenter will be assigned a poster board at the Conference in a heavily-trafficked area. These boards are 4' X 8' (horizontal) foam core mounted on lightweight aluminum pedestals. Pushpins/thumbtacks to attach the poster components to the foam core will be provided at each board on the day of installation.

Materials must be easily read at a distance of four feet. Each poster should include the title of the

presentation (104-point size), the author(s) and affiliation(s) (72-point size). A point size of 16-18 or larger is recommended for the body of your texts.

You may request a display table to place materials, such as handouts or a sign-up sheet to record the names and addresses of attendees who might wish to receive more information, reprints, and so on. If your poster session includes electrical equipment (e.g., a laptop), you will need to provide your own source of power.

No electrical support will be available in the Poster Session area. Please let us know if you will require a table and chairs.

The posters will be on display for the duration of the Conference. Displays must be assembled by 9:00 a.m.

on Thursday, February 11, and must be cleared by 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13. Poster presentations will last one and a half hours, and be scheduled during the luncheon breaks on

With those participations and interactions, we shared ideas, aroused inspirations, and sparked new thoughts.

The discussion and display of my work created tremendous interactions between not only the presenters and the audience, but also between those presenters in the same session. We expressed our concepts, received feedbacks from the audiences, and also learnt from other professionals.

Presenters shared varieties of research, case studies, and design projects. I received lots of feedbacks and interesting attentions during and after my presentation. Other sessions, speeches, various open galleries, and social activities created great opportunities for participants to interact.

It is a fabulous experience in which everyone shared ideas and exchange works in a formal conference time, as well as in a casual setting in the galleries and other gatherings. Those formal and informal interactions with other speakers, students, and participants broadened my view more globally in the field of design and arts. It was a excellent experience participating in this annual conference where gathered many intelligent people from all over the world. The commerce with academicians and professionals enriched my field of vision inside and outside of my discipline.

Not only had I learned a lot from this high ranked conference held by CAA, but I gained an unforgettable experience to have personal contact with other professionals, to explore

magnificent architectures, and to experience Chicago culture. With a sound result in attending the 2010 College Art Association 98^th Annual Conference, I would very much like to have more opportunities to present my work globally by which not only share my ideas with other scholars from all over the world but also learn a great amount of experiences from them. For this coming academic year, I plan to share my research results at IMPACT 7: Intersections & Counterpoints.

This international multi-disciplinary printmaking conference will be held at Melbourne in Australia. I am sure those experiences will enrich my professional development much more.

Moreover, I am glad to spread our Taiwan experiences overseas and to take precious perceptions back to share with my colleagues, students, friends, and communities.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the kind support from National Science Council in assisting me with attending this conference. This is an excellent opportunity for me to contribute the mission of visual design research by sharing the latest ideas, technical information, and research findings. I look forward to having more opportunities to present my work internationally.
