Abstract:
Asthma is one of the most common allergic diseases in Taiwan, and about 30-40% of patients had ever received traditional Chinese medical treatment or alternative therapy. However, current situation of children with asthma in Taiwan treated by Chinese medicine is still unclear. There is also no large-scale comparative study about the difference between children with asthma who treated by western medicine combined with Chinese medicine and those who only treated by western medicine. The main objective of this research is to evaluate the difference in efficacy between children with asthma treated by western medicine combined with Chinese medicine and those who only treated by western medicine Taiwan. We will conduct systemic review and meta-analysis on the current traditional Chinese medicine
treatment on asthmatic children. This provides the basis for further large-scale clinical trials to demonstrate the efficacy of TCM treatment for asthma in children.
