Visitor Arrivals
Analysed by place of residence, Mainland visitors increased by 14% year-on-year to 1,743,776, with 707,085 (41% of total) travelling to Macao under the Individual Visit Scheme. Visitors from Hong Kong and the Republic of Korea increased by 9%
and 11% respectively; besides, long-haul visitors from the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom posted year-on- year increase; however, those from Canada and France registered decline.
Attributable to the Easter holidays, visitor arrivals increased by 10% year-on-year to 2,636,614; same-day visitors accounted for 54% of the total. In the first four months of 2014, visitor arrivals reached 10,326,780, an increase of 9% year-on-year.
The average length of stay of visitors was 1.0 day; overnight and same-day visitors stayed an average of 1.9 days and 0.2 day respectively.
