Non-resident workers totalled 178,694 at the end of the second quarter, down by 1,185 quarter-to-quarter.

Total population was 648,400, a slight increase of 100 quarter-to-quarter; female population accounted for 52.8% of the total.

There were 1,596 live births delivered, an increase of 36 quarter-to-quarter. The sex ratio at birth stood at 108.1. Mortality totalled 513, up by 7 quarter-to-quarter. In the first half of 2017, live births and mortality decreased by 4.5% and 16.7% respectively year-on-year.
