Population estimate of Macao was 653,100 at end-2017, up by 8,200 or 1.3% year-on-year. Males and females accounted for 47.0% and 53.0% of the total population respectively.
For the whole year of 2017, live births and mortality decreased by 8.6% and 5.7% respectively year-on-year; the rate of natural increase was 6.8‰.
Migration flow reversed from a net outflow in 2016 to a net inflow of 3,800 in 2017.
The population in the Parish of Nossa Senhora de Fátima, the most populous area, increased by 1.1% year-on-year to 246,600, taking up 37.8% of the total population.
