The number of visitor arrivals in Macau, by different modes of transport, was 605,318 in December 1998 which showed an increase of 6.1% compared with the same month of 1997.
In 1998, there was a total number of 6,948,535 visitors arrived by sea (through Outer Harbour and Pier No. 14), by land, and by air, represented a decrease of 0.7% over 1997.
In the period of analysis, visitor arrivals by sea (through Outer Harbour) recorded a decrease of 2.3%, at 4,568,145 compared with 1997. Visitor arrivals by air totalled at 512,180, represented a decrease of 4.7%. The number of visitor arrivals through the Macau International Airport decreased by 4.8% over 1997, at 488,618.
There were 1,749,300 visitors arrived by land, equivalent to an increase of 7.7% compared with 1997.
