第四節 小結
綜合上述一至三節可得知，RFID 從發展至今已超過 40 餘年，整體系 統架構包含標籤、讀寫器及後端應用系統三大部分。長久以來，圖書館一 直在思考該如何因應社會型態的轉變、科技的研發創新、讀者習慣改變等 因素，使圖書館能持續滿足讀者需求，讓讀者能繼續樂於前往圖書館使 用，致使圖書館的硬體或軟體隨著世代變遷，愈趨多元化。圖書館與 RFID 的結合運用已近十年之久，全球已超過 600 所圖書館使用 RFID，亦不斷 地有圖書館與資訊學界人士對此技術進行探討、研究、測試、調查與評估，
思考該如何將 RFID 應用於圖書館，以最少的成本支出，獲得最大效益。
目前已將 RFID 應用於書籍及視聽資料閱覽、自助還書系統、特殊館藏管 理、借書證、智慧型座椅(take-a-seat)等處，為圖書館及讀者帶來莫大改變。
相對於檔案館的自動化發展，目前仍多以自動化資訊系統管理，由人 工進行館內所有業務工作，僅有少數檔案典藏單位運用 RFID，因此在 RFID 的運用上，其規模和成熟度無法與圖書館相比，所提出相關之改善空間亦 較有限。雖檔案典藏單位與圖書館對於組織架構、典藏程序、典藏資料計 算單位及保存期限等面向，皆有些許差異，但本研究仍以建置單位之實例 和經驗，藉由各館藏導入 RFID 之動機、過程、應用範圍及成效等，以及 針對 RFID 所定出的相關標準規則，作為 RFID 應用於我國檔案典藏單位 的參考並擬訂訪談綱要，試圖了解國內檔案典藏單位對自動化發展之規劃 與看法，希冀可喚起國內專家學者及檔案典藏單位管理人員對 RFID 的重 視，促使檔案典藏單位於檔案管理、應用與傳播教育上，能擴展更多元的 運用方式。
