☆此次查詢 Ocimum basilicum toxicity，其毒性主要是針對昆蟲，原理是利用 balsam fir 或 sweet basil 中的物質，ex juvabione，其結構像昆蟲的 juvenile hormones，故 可以當 suicide substrates 影響 insect endocrine gland，進而達到殺蟲之目的，而對人 體毒性方面的論文幾乎沒有，其中最具相關者(見上 7)為利用大劑量 Ocimum basilicum 作動物毒性測試，發現對肝和胃造成重大損傷，並且測得 NOAEL 值， 但並無闡述其作用方式，也未發現是否對人體也有相同的傷害，另外(見上 8)， Ocimum basilicum 發現含有(Cu, Zn, Mn, Fe, K, Ca, Mg, Ni, Cd, Pb and Cr)等重金屬， 故大量攝取將對人體有害。
△學習心得: 個人覺得 SciFinder 非常實用，因為它可以把搜尋關鍵字(可能 2 個 以上)作分類，可以包含兩個字同時出現在文章中，或有這兩種關鍵字的 concept， 甚或是有關鍵字 A”或”關鍵字 B 的文章，光是這個小設計就可以幫助省下過濾 資料的時間，而且其資料的準確性又高，找起資料其實相當容易，另外我覺得我 也非常喜歡的的 refine 功能，可以從分類中挑到自己需要的資訊，比方我這次搜 尋的主題 Ocimum basilicum toxicity，其實其資訊並不多且大篇幅都找到殺蟲的功 用，卻找不到對人體的影響，所以我就利用 categorize 選取 biology 中的 subtances inadverse effect，這樣就可以快速找到對人體的影響，而且其分類很細，幾乎我想 要找的資訊都包含在分類當中，非常方便。<以下附上查詢時的圖片>

☆此次查詢 Ocimum basilicum 的專利，其結果非常廣，故以上只舉幾個我較感興 趣的結果，包括新栽種 Ocimum basilicum 的方法(發現可以提升其想要的 content 含量)(見上 3)、利用其 antimicrobial 的特性應用於 handcare or skincare products(見上 1) 、利用 Ocimum basilicum 具一段 nucleic acid sequence encoding the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, 而其可對應製造出 geraniol synthase (GES)，而 GES 可 以將 geranyl diphosphate 轉換為 geraniol，依此原理製造出 geraniol 及 metabolites(見 上 2)
△學習心得:使用 innovation 的介面在 refine 的功能上個人覺得沒有 scifinder 好， 找到的準確度也不高，不過它提供的資訊很詳細，除了 abstract 外還有 firt claim 作更進一步的介紹，有些還含有圖片作解說，可以說是非常詳盡，另外，我用類 似主題(Ocimum basilicum)同時在 scifinder 和 innovation 作搜索，可以在 scifinder 知道其特性和相關研究，在 innovation 了解其實際被應用的狀況、方向，個人覺 得交叉查詢所獲得的知識變的很廣、多元，而且藉由專利的介紹更能回過頭注意 Ocimum basilicum 的內容物、作用，我覺得對於主題的了解非常有幫助。<以下附 上查詢時的圖片>
