EXTERNAL MERCHANDISE TRADE STATISTICS AUGUST 2014
− Merchandise export and import amounted to MOP751 million and MOP7.20 billion respectively, both up by 5% year-on-year.
Merchandise trade deficit totalled MOP6.45 billion.
− In the first eight months of 2014, merchandise export increased by 8% year-on-year to MOP6.53 billion, of which re-exports rose by 11% but domestic exports declined by 4%; merchandise import grew by 11% to MOP57.54 billion. External merchandise trade increased by 10% year-on-year to MOP64.08 billion. Merchandise trade deficit widened further to MOP51.01 billion.
