EXTERNAL MERCHANDISE TRADE STATISTICS
OCTOBER 2017
- Merchandise export and import amounted to MOP806 million and MOP6.25 billion respectively, up by 6.1% and 3.6% year-on-year. Merchandise trade deficit totalled MOP5.44 billion.
- In the first ten months of 2017, merchandise export rose by 10.3% year-on-year, of which re-exports increased by 15.1% but domestic exports decreased by 10.0%; meanwhile, merchandise import grew by 4.7%. External merchandise trade went up by 5.4% year-on-year to MOP69.87 billion. Merchandise trade deficit widened further to MOP51.13 billion.
- Merchandise export to Mainland China grew by 21.1% year-on-year to MOP1.78 billion in the first ten months of 2017, of which exports to the nine provinces of the Pan Pearl River Delta (MOP1.58 billion) rose by 14.1%. Analysed by place of consignment, merchandise import from Mainland China slid by 2.1%
year-on-year to MOP9.74 billion, of which imports from the nine provinces of the Pan Pearl River Delta (MOP9.27 billion) fell by 1.2%.
