VISITOR ARRIVALS
In February 2003, there were 1,047,418 visitor arrivals in Macao, equivalent to an increase of 12.0% over February 2002. Visitors came mainly from Hong Kong (45.1%), Mainland China (39.7%) and Taiwan (10.3%). Same-day visitors accounted for 47.4% of the total arrivals, at 496,799.
In the first two months of 2003, there were 2,034,631 visitor arrivals, up 18.8% over the same period of 2002. Same-day visitors shared 45.8% of the total arrivals, with 932,759.
Compared with the first two months of 2002, the cumulative number of visitor arrivals by sea was 939,528 (+4.6%), in which 916,404 (+4.5%) arrived at the Outer Harbour. Arrivals by land totalled at 966,666 (+40.5%), among whom 924,368 (+41.8%) arrived through the Border Gate and 42,298 through the Checkpoint of CoTai. Arrivals by air reached 128,437 (+1.5%), with 126,524 of them (+1.7%) arrived at the Macao International Airport.
