VISITOR ARRIVALS

The total number of visitor arrivals in November 2004 was 1,454,638, which corresponded to a year-on-year increase of 25.4%. Visitors came mainly from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, China. Same-day visitors accounted for 50.5% of the total arrivals, at 734,099.

In the first eleven months of 2004, visitor arrivals totalled 15,154,154, up 42.1% over the same period of last year. Same-day visitors, at 7,588,986, made up 50.1% of the total.

Compared with the same period of last year, visitor arrivals by sea went up 23.0% to 5,736,717 in the first eleven months of 2004, with 5,612,276 arriving at the Outer Harbour (+22.5%). Arrivals by land soared to 8,641,218, up 59.8%, with 8,013,266 arriving through the Border Gate (+54.9%) and 627,952 through the Checkpoint of CoTai. Arrivals by air were 776,219, up 30.6%, among which 760,064 arrived at the Macao International Airport (+30.6%).
