VISITOR ARRIVALS
․ Total number of visitor and non-resident arrivals was 2,991,102 in December 2010; visitor arrivals totalled 2,271,301, an increase of 11.6% year-on-year. Same-day visitors (1,164,316) accounted for 51.3% of total visitor arrivals. For the whole year of 2010, visitor arrivals rose by 14.8% year-on-year to 24,965,411; same-day visitors made up 52.2% of the total, at 13,039,540.
․ Visitors from Mainland China increased by 18.8% year-on- year to 1,200,324 in December 2010, with 494,567 travelling to Macao under the Individual Visit Scheme.
․ For the whole year of 2010, visitor arrivals by sea (10,244,087), by land (13,087,262) and by air (1,634,062) increased by 18.0%, 14.3% and 0.9% year-on-year respectively.
