There are an increasing number of studies focusing on area influences on individual health (Beckfield, 2004, Blakely and Woodward, 2000, Carlson, 2005, Datta et al., 2006, DeSilva et al., 2007, Dunn et al., 2005). The underline assumption of these studies is that individual health is not only determined by individual characteristics, but also contextual characteristics where individuals live. STUDY PURPOSE This study intends to understand county and township-level influences on adult health status in Taiwan.
