This course aims at training students’ English-Chinese translation skills, making them more fluent in the application of Chinese and English. Special focus will be put on translating works from English to Chinese in this semester.

20% Service Work Related to This Course (Service work is highly valued by both the academia overseas and the corporate world. Students taking Prof. Wang’s courses are REQUIRED to conduct service works. Those who disagree with this policy SHOULD NOT take Prof. Wang’s course. Assignments for the respective service works will need to be handed in before mid and final exams; on-site works for the service work will need to be performed on regularly basis which will be notified after the semester begins.)

學習規範

Those who take this course should all possess the textbook. Before every class, they should preview and review the lessons. There will be pop quizzes. Furthermore, there will be service works regulated at the beginning of the semester; this is to enhance learners' worldview and prepare them for the intensity from the competitions they have to face in their future careers.

Those who are absent for three times will automatically be flunk, out of their own conduct and choice. Attending every class without being punctual is counted as being late, and 2 times ‘being late’ would result 1 absence. Only when the physicians’, employers’, or any program holders’ etc. declaration on the students taking this class having logistic ground to be excused from the class can a record of absence be ignored; for those who have such reasonable account to be excused from the class, they have to write a report on the day’s lesson as a make-up measure for the class

—failing to do so also results a record of absence.
