A Study on the Relationship of Elementary School Students’ Playfulness to Leisure Education Effect

ABSTRACT
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between elementary school students’ playfulness to leisure education effect.
Two different classes of 3rd grade in same elementary school were taking leisure education programs that were designed by researcher for two months. The data were collectedusing quasi-experimented approach and analyzed by descriptive statistics, independent-samples t test, paired-sample t test, and simple regression Analysis. After rigorous screening, there were 26 subjects in experimental group,and 27 effect subjects in control group. The conclusions of this study are as follows: (1) There is significant difference personal playfulness between pre- experiment and post- experiment subjects. (2) There is a significant difference in leisure awareness between pre-experiment and post- experiment subjects. (3) The class-evoked playfulness differs significantly between types of leisure education programs. (4) Types of leisure education programs are partially associated with leisure education effect. (5)Pupils
’ class-evoked playfulness dosen’t have signicant predictive power over leisure education effect. Finally, we discussion and implications of the research results were made.Recommendations for educators and future researchers were offered accordingly.
