「Ulrich Web」查詢期刊刊名變革，將改名前後刊物視為同一刊併計。本 節依序說明語言分布、期刊分布與期刊主題。

一、 期刊語言
本研究分析之601篇期刊論文中，分布在240種刊物，根據表4-16可知，
240種期刊語言分布以中文和英文兩種為主，在國內期刊共計130種刊物，
其中127種以中文語言出版，3種以英文出版，經進一步查明，3種期刊分 別是Taiwania(植物科學期刊)、Collection and Research(蒐藏與研究)以及 Journal of Information Science and Engineering；國外期刊共計110種刊物，
其中4種以中文語言出版，106種以英文出版，經查明後，4種期刊分別是 中華中醫藥學刊(遼寧省)、故宮博物院院刊(北京)、上海交通大學學報以及 煙台學報。

在國內期刊部分共 341 篇文獻，分布於 130 種期刊，從表 4-17 得知前 20 名期刊中，刊載文獻數量最高為「故宮文物月刊」59 篇，其次為「圖 書與資訊學刊」11 篇、「中文計算語言學期刊」10 篇、「電腦與通訊」
10 篇、「Taiwania(植物科學期刊) 」8 篇、「國史館館刊」7 篇、「教育 資料與圖書館學」7 篇、「檔案季刊」7 篇、「大學圖書館」6 篇、「中央 研究院計算中心通訊」6 篇、「國家圖書館館刊」6 篇等。由於篇幅因素，
其餘詳見附錄四。

二、 期刊主題分布
本研究依據「中華民國期刊出版指南系統」以及「Ulrich Web」提供 之期刊主題以及分類號作為期刊分類原則，將 240 種期刊進行主題分類。
國內期刊採用「中華民國期刊出版指南系統」之中國圖書分類法；國外期 刊採用「Ulrich Web」系統中之杜威分類法。本研究將 240 種期刊以分類 號十大類加以區分，分別為總類、哲學、宗教、自然科學、應用科學、社 會科學、史地、史地總論、語言文字、藝術。每一期刊大多僅有一個分類 號，部份具有 2 個以上的分類號，從表 4-19 可知，85 種期刊分屬在總類；
應用科學和社會科學分別有 46 種；語言文字 19 種；藝類與史地各 10 種；
史地總論 6 種；哲學 5 種；宗教 1 種。
