第三節 研究限制
一、
研究方法方面本研究因時間與人力的限制而僅採橫斷面及短期的追蹤性研究 設計，缺乏長期的縱貫式追蹤，因此無法了解及比較肺癌患者的對於 癌症症狀困擾的嚴重程度、及症狀對於日常生活品質干擾的嚴重程度 之長期性變化與差異。
二、
研究樣本方面本研究的臨床研究樣本，由於醫師的特性，讓手術切除分組的病 患大多集中於某一家醫學中心；而化學治療的病患則多數集中於另一 家醫學中心，而整體影響樣本的代表性，較無法能夠用來推估其他家 醫學中心的肺癌病患型態。
另外，在評估手術前後反應性的收案樣本數仍然不夠充足，無法 評估是否有其他交互作用的因子，如年齡、性別等等無法探討。
再者，本研究之對象為肺癌患者，為了顧及研究之倫理，且不增 加肺癌患者太多的困擾、負擔與影響病情，故將癌症患者其疾病症狀 太過於嚴重、疲憊、或虛弱的對象無法納入本研究收案標準之內，而 影響本研究的樣本代表性。
