行動電話之可攜式特徵與多功能特徵,使得行動電話成為聽障者日常生活中 不可或缺的科技輔具。由於目前的行動電話乃因應一般使用者之需求所設計,聽 障者使用時因而面臨許多使用困難。本研究期望透過聽障者多功能行動電話之通 用設計,協助聽障者克服使用上之困難。

本研究以「通用設計」原則和「聽障者參與產品設計先端階段」之「完整的 設計考量」以達到下列目的:(1)根據通用設計原則和概念設計方法,以提出聽 障者多功能行動電話概念設計;(2)根據概念設計之具體情節以發展聽障者多功 能通用行動電話雛形”PeacePHONE”;(3)根據”PeacePHONE”之使用性測試,瞭 解”PeacePHONE”是否能改善聽障者所面臨之「不適當」或「不足夠」之行動電 話使用困境;和(4)根據”PeacePHONE”之使用性測試,瞭解聽障者

對”PeacePHONE”設計概念之評價和建議,以作為再設計之參考。

本研究之結果指出:(1)提出溝通概念設計、通知概念設計和電子商務概念 設計;(2)發展內含 16 項具體情節之行動電話雛形” PeacePHONE”;(3)聽障者對 於PeacePHONE 之功能給予正向之肯定。熱鍵文字簡訊緊急通知功能與熱鍵多 媒體簡訊緊急通知功能可以解決「不適當」之使用困境,可攜式門鈴與火警緊急 通知可解決「不足夠」之使用困境。(4)聽障者提出三點正向回饋:(1)即時互動 是PeacePHONE 重要的溝通設計特色;(2)PeacePHONE 熱鍵緊急通知功能可改 善目前行動電話之使用性困難;(3)PeacePHONE 之可攜式門鈴和火警通知功能可 改善目前行動電話之使用性不足;聽障者亦提出三點負向回饋:(1)PeacePHONE 之電子商務功能無法克服聽障者目前的日常生活困難;(2)PeacePHONE 缺乏選擇 輸入方式的機會;(3)PeacePHONE 缺乏視覺導向的娛樂功能。

本研究就(1)PeacePHONE 再設計方向;(2)行動電話功能與通用設計原則之 符合度;和(3)行動電話發展與研究方法之適切性三方向進行聽障者多功能行動

電話通用設計之綜合討論進行綜合討論。PeacePHONE 再設計方面,未來需要根 據聽障者所提出之負向回饋進行再設計,利如增加電子鎖,以確保行動電話的安 全性與個人隱私權;增加輸入方式,如各式鍵盤、觸控螢幕或手寫輸入,以提供 聽障者選擇;和增加視覺導向功能,以擴充行動電話之多功能服務。通用設計方 面,本研究之設計皆能符合七項通用設計原則,唯獨無法達到「視障族群」和「視 力不佳之年長者」之公平性、靈活性和易感性原則。研究方法方面本研究所使用 的概念設計方法與遵循「通用設計」原則和「聽障者參與產品設計先端階段」之

「完整的設計考量」,符合科技輔具發展之趨勢,可做為未來發展其他科技輔具 之參考。

本研究由研究問題、研究動機、研究方法和研究結果逐步完成「聽障者多功 能行動電話之通用設計」。互動系統之設計需要反覆的設計過程。本研究僅完成 產品先端之概念設計,需要根據聽障者之回饋進行再次設計。期望本研究之結果 可以提供未來行動電話設計之參考,以提高聽障者行動電話之可接近性。本研究 由聽障者的行動電話使用需求出發,提出「聽障者多功能行動電話之通用設計」,

然而,通用設計之中心思想在於「產品設計應該盡可能使產品的特徵符合每一個 人的需求」,本階段提出符合聽障者與一般使用者之需求,然而,身心障礙類別 尚有視障者、心智障礙者和肢體障礙者等,未來研究可將研究對象擴展至其他身 心障礙者,以逐步達成符合所有障別使用之多功能行動電話。
