VISITOR ARRIVALS

․ Visitor arrivals totalled 2,164,249 in February 2011, up by 5.2% year-on-year, while same-day visitors (1,181,261) accounted for 54.6% of total visitor arrivals. In the first two months of 2011, visitor arrivals rose by 3.3% year-on-year to 4,240,313; same-day visitors made up 54.5% of the total, at 2,312,210.

․ Visitors from Mainland China increased by 5.1% year-on- year to 1,204,301 in February 2011, with the majority coming from the provinces of Guangdong, Fujian and Zhejiang. Mainland visitors travelling to Macao under the Individual Visit Scheme totalled 580,415, up slightly by 0.2% year-on-year.

․ In the first two months of 2011, visitor arrivals by sea (1,672,891) and by land (2,310,975) increased by 0.8%

and 6.9% respectively year-on-year, while those arriving by air (256,447) decreased by 9.3%.
