EXTERNAL MERCHANDISE TRADE STATISTICS
JUNE 2017
- Merchandise export and import amounted to MOP938 million and MOP6.17 billion, up by 14.3% and 10.4% respectively year-on-year. Merchandise trade deficit totalled MOP5.24 billion.
- In the second quarter, merchandise export and import totalled MOP2.67 billion and MOP17.23 billion, up by 10.8% and 5.3% respectively year-on-year, resulting in a trade deficit of MOP14.56 billion.
- In the first half of 2017, merchandise export rose by 9.8% year-on-year, of which re-exports and domestic exports increased by 10.8% and 5.1% respectively;
merchandise import grew by 5.6%. External merchandise trade went up by 6.1% year-on-year to MOP40.73 billion. Merchandise trade deficit widened further to MOP29.50 billion.
- Merchandise export to Mainland China grew by 2.3% year-on-year to MOP917 million in the first half of 2017, of which exports to the nine provinces of the Pan Pearl River Delta (MOP870 million) rose by 2.3%. Analysed by place of consignment, merchandise import from Mainland China slid by 0.5% year-on-year to MOP5.55 billion, of which imports from the nine provinces of the Pan Pearl River Delta (MOP5.29 billion) fell by 0.2%.
