EXTERNAL MERCHANDISE TRADE STATISTICS MAY 2014
Merchandise export and import amounted to MOP928 million and MOP7.45 billion respectively, up by 18% and 12% year-on-year.
Merchandise trade deficit totalled MOP6.52 billion.
In the first five months of 2014, merchandise export increased by 10% year-on-year to MOP4.24 billion, of which re-exports rose by 15% but domestic exports declined by 5%; merchandise import grew by 15% to MOP36.63 billion. External merchandise trade increased by 15% year-on-year to MOP40.87 billion. Merchandise trade deficit widened further to MOP32.38 billion.
